The short version
We collect the information Sakha needs to work and to keep it safe. We don't sell your personal data or use it for advertising, and you can delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are
Sakha (the "app") is run by YRAL Tech, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, write to sakhaappofficial@gmail.com. Our Grievance Officer is listed in section 11.
Sakha is an AI companion inspired by the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna in the app is an AI character, not a person, and not a substitute for medical, legal, financial or professional advice.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: the phone number or Google account you sign in with, and the email address linked to a Google account.
- Information you give us: your profile and preferences (such as your name, language, the areas you want help with and your reminder settings), your conversations in the app, your check-ins, and any feedback you send.
- Usage information: how you use the app, such as the features you use and your reading streak.
- Device and technical information: your device type, operating system, app version, time zone, notification token, IP address, and diagnostic information such as crash reports.
We do not collect your contacts or precise location, and Sakha shows no ads.
3. How we use it
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To provide Sakha's features, including Krishna's replies, your progress and the reminders you choose.
- To recognise when someone may be in crisis and show them helplines.
- To keep the service fair, safe and free from abuse, including limits on the free plan.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
- To contact you about your account or important changes.
We process your data to provide the service you asked for, on the basis of your consent when you sign up, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your account.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising. We share it only:
- with service providers who help us run Sakha (for example hosting, sign-in, AI processing, notifications and crash reporting), under contracts that limit how they can use it;
- when the law requires it, or to protect someone's life or safety.
Some of these providers may process data outside India, with safeguards as required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Sakha. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it by law or to prevent fraud and abuse (for example, a record of the phone number or account used, so free trials can't be claimed again). See Delete your account.
6. Your rights and choices
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- access information about your data and how it's used;
- correct or update it (most of it directly in the app);
- erase it by deleting your account (Profile → Delete account);
- withdraw consent at any time, and turn off reminders in the app or notifications in your phone's settings;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you;
- raise a grievance with us (section 11), and if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To make a request, write to sakhaappofficial@gmail.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
7. Children
Sakha is meant for adults (18 and over). People under 18 may use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child is using Sakha without consent, write to us and we will delete the account.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of any breach as the law requires.
9. Third-party links
Sakha may link to other websites or services, such as app stores or helplines. Their own privacy policies apply to them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the date above and tell you in the app before significant changes take effect.
